PREPARE FOR A FUTURE CAREER IN
FOODSERVICE CONSULTING
A foodservice consultant is an expert who provides specialized advice and assistance to their clients. They offer knowledge and experience that may not be available in-house or at the time of need. Their primary goal is to enhance the welfare of the client organization through the design and implementation of foodservice facilities and/or systems.
With a deep understanding of the foodservice and hospitality industry, consultants advise and educate clients on a wide range of topics. They bring a high degree of industry experience to their work and provide independent, objective advice to facilitate communication between the project team and foodservice operations professionals. Acting as an advocate for foodservice operations, consultants enhance their clients’ businesses.
Foodservice consultants come from various educational backgrounds, such as business, architecture, culinary arts, computer science, engineering, and hospitality. Practical experience in restaurants serving, managing, and cooking is also valuable.
To enter the consulting field, students can enroll in WKU’s foodservice consultant certificate program, gaining valuable skills and knowledge for an entry-level position in a consulting firm.
