FCSI FOODSERVICE DESIGN CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

PREPARE FOR A CAREER IN FOODSERVICE CONSULTING

The Foodservice Consulting Certificate Program

The FCSI Educational Foundation has teamed up with Western Kentucky University to develop an innovative foodservice consulting certificate. This highly anticipated program is scheduled to launch in 2024, following its development in 2023. We will provide more updates on the actual launch date in the latter part of 2023. As pioneers in this field, we are committed to offering top-notch instruction and resources to equip you with the necessary skills to excel in this exciting, ever-changing industry.

The objectives of the program are to:

  • Introduce learners to the field of foodservice consulting and provide foundational knowledge to begin a career in the field, or further advance their foodservice career.
  • Explore a range of concept domains critical in the field of foodservice consulting.  Examples include: Foodservice Accounting & Budgeting, Foodservice Equipment, Laws, Regulations & Specifications in Foodservice Design, Kitchen/Interior/Architectural Design, Foodservice Equipment Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Systems, Foodservice Consulting Technology & Tools, Equipment DistributionBidding & Procurement, and Project Management & Quality Control.
  • Provide hands-on foodservice consulting experiences and establish professional relationships through mentoring, internships, and conference opportunities.
  • Integrate project based and/or problem-based learning, such as a capstone experience, connected to consulting in the foodservice industry.

Trends indicate solid growth in the foodservice consulting industry and the FCSI Educational Foundation is poised to create a pipeline of new foodservice consultants to support the foodservice industry.

For more information on the new program, please contact Foundation administrator Greg Jewell at gregj@fcsief.org.
